Doctrinal Statement

The doctrinal belief of this congregation is expressed in the following statements:

Section 1. Inspiration of the Scriptures
We believe the Holy Bible, that is the Old and New Testaments, are the verbally inspired Word of God, written by holy men of God controlled by the Holy Spirit; is inerrant in the original writings; has supreme authority in all matters of faith and practice and shall remain to the end of the age the only complete and final revelation of the will of God to man. (*All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all Good works." Il Tim. 3:16, 17, Il Peter 1:19-21.)

Section 2. One True God, who is Triune.
We believe in one God, who in relationship to the universe is Creator, Sustainer, and Redeemer, and also Central and Ultimate, eternally existing in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, which is the God-head. These three are equal in power and glory and execute distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption. (The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all Amen* Il Cor 13:14, Matt. 28:19, John 14:26, 16:26, 1 Peter 1:2 )

Section 3. Fall of Man
We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned, and thereby incurred, not just physical death, but also that spiritual death which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and in the case of those who reach moral responsibility, they become
responsible for the fact that they are sinners in thought, word, and deed. (*For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23, Psalms 51:5, Ezek. 18:4, Jer. 17.9, Romans 5:12)

Section 4. Deity of Christ
We believe in the absolute deity of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man. (John 1:1-14, 1 Cor. 15:3-4, Luke 1:35)

Section 5. Salvation through Christ
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; and that all who believe in Him are justified by the grace of God on the grounds of Christ's shed blood. (*For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16. "But as many as receive Him to them gave He power to become the Sons of God, even to them that believe on His name." John 1:12, Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9.)

Section 6. Resurrection, Ascension, and Intercession of Christ
We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into heaven, and in His present life there for us as High Priest and Advocate. (And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the Scriptures." 1 Cor. 15:4, 1 Cor. 15:12-19.)

Section 7. Second Coming
We believe in that "Blessed Hope," the personal premillennial and imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (Titus 2:13, Acts 1:11, Rev. 19:11-16, Rev 20:6, Rev 22:20.)

Section 8. Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgement; that He is the Supernatural agent in the regeneration of sinners; and that He is the indweller and teacher of the individual believer. (1 John 4:1-4, John 16:7-11.)

Section 9. Satan
We believe in the person of Satan, that he is the unholy god of this age and the author of all the power of darkness and is destined to eternal judgment in the lake of fire. (*In whom the god of this world hath blinded the mind of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine, unto them.* Il Cor. 4:4, "And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.' Rev. 20:10.)

Section 10. Bodily Resurrection
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting, conscious punishment of the lost. (John 5:28, John 3:15, 36, Rev. 22:14, 2 Thess. 1:7-10.)
